The coach of Obuasi Ashanti Gold SC, Svetislav Tanasijevic has criticized the Ghanaian referees on how they officiate Kotoko matches.
Yesterday, after the Porcupine Warriors beat them in the Golden clash (Asante Derby) by two goals to nil at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and Tanasijevic in his press conference after the game asked if Kotoko is a big team.
The Serbian feels his side was cheated in the as the referee denied them a penalty.
“If Asante Kotoko is a big club why are referees always helping them? We had a clear penalty he ignored. I’m extending an invitation to the referee into our dressing room just to observe how my boys are shedding tears, knowing he caused our loss,” Tanasijevic said in his post-match.
Ash Gold dominated the game in the first half but they were not able to convert their chances as Kotoko’s goalkeeper, Felix Annan made sure he keeps a clean sheet.
The table turned in the second half and Kotoko dominated the second part of the game. Fatawu Safiu’s brace in the second half gave Kotoko the three maximum points and extend their lead on the top of the group to 9 points.
