Former coach of King Faisal FC, Mallam Yahaya has expressed his interest to become the assistant coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
Yahaya expressed his interest during an interview on Ash FM. During Kotoko’s CAF Confederation Cup campaign, Yahaya said on Ash FM that if Kotoko appoints him as the assistant coach of the club, Kotoko will be the trophy.
Yahaya who sounded confident during the interview said his friend, C.K would even tell the management to appoint him as his assistant coach if Kotoko shows interest in him.
“If C.K hears that I will be appointed as his assistant coach, he will be happy.”
Not only did he describe himself as “a confident coach” but he also said the with all that he “has learned in Germany should he get the opportunity to apply it, he will succeed.”
“I ended Kotoko’s home winning streak at the Kumasi Sports Stadium with King Faisal in 2012/2013.”
According to him, “Kotoko is the easiest team to coach,” as you will be given everything you want to help you “deliver.”
Also, coaching “Kotoko will make you popular” and “you would not think.”
“All you have to do is impact your knowledge through the players.”
“You will not think about not being paid for months, you will not be hungry so why can’t you deliver?”, he asked.
He threw a challenge to Kotoko to let him work for the club for three months and see the change he will bring to the club as he is “one of the best coaches in Ghana.”
