Kotoko likely to play Champions League games in Accra

With two months left for the start of the 2020/2021 Champions League competition, Asante Kotoko is likely to play its home games in Accra.

Early this year, the government closed down the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to do renovations and both Kotoko and King Faisal had to find a new home.

While Kotoko chose Accra Sports Stadium as its new home, Faisal chose Nana Ameyaw Park in Techiman.

Since the stadium’s renovation is still ongoing, it looks like Kotoko will have to play their home games in Accra as the renovation seem not to end anytime soon.

Baba Yara’s pitch has been removed for underground works to take place while broken seats, toilet facilities and the scoreboard are yet to be fixed.
