Kumasi Asante Kotoko after beating their arch-rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak has taken to social media to mock them.
The Porcupine Warriors beat the Phobians at the Accra Sports Stadium to qualify to the final of the Normalization Committee Special Competition final.
A day after the match, Kotoko took to Twitter to use the words to Hearts coach, Kim Grant to mock him and his club.
Kotoko tweeted, ” We trained coach, C. K. Akonnor, more than our ‘UNSTRATEGICALLY’ SIGNED PLAYERS’ during our training camp, because we knew that the ‘STRATEGICALLY SIGNED’, Hearts of Oak players, CAN NEVER BEAT US IN ANY WAY.”
Early this year, Grant in an interview said Kotoko “did not sign players with strategic plans.”
“Asante Kotoko are making good use of the opportunity given them to play in the Caf Confederation Cup but I believe that they did not sign players with strategic plans,” Grant told Atinka FM.
“They had to be specific with the kind of players they lacked in their set-up but it seems lots of players have been brought on board without any strategic plans for them since only a few seem to be part of the first team now,” he added.
Kotoko’s swipe at Grant did not end there. They also reminded Grant that he did not get knocked out in the Tier 2 competition in the semi-final but rather in the round of 16 by lower division side, Unistar Academy.
Apparently, Grant in his press conference after the game had said his side was knocked out in the semi-final of the competition which in fact was not true.
