Kumasi Asante Kotoko is currently facing a situation where they are reportedly continuing to pay the salaries of four players who are considered surplus to the team’s requirements. The players in question are Solomon Safo Taylor, Clinton Opoku, Rashid Nortey, and Ernest Osei Poku. Despite being deemed surplus, these players have been receiving monthly payments totaling GH₵ 20,500 for the past four months.
The breakdown of the payments reveals that Solomon Safo Taylor is receiving GH₵ 8,000, Clinton Opoku is receiving GH₵ 3,000, Rashid Nortey is receiving GH₵ 6,000, and Ernest Osei Poku is receiving GH₵ 3,500.
According to a report by Oyerepa Radio’s Eugene Adu Poku, there has been a disagreement regarding the termination of the players’ contracts. Allegedly, some of the players expressed a willingness to accept payment for three months before terminating their contracts, while the club was inclined towards terminating the contracts without any additional payment.
