Kumasi Asante Kotoko has reportedly paid 29.35% of their gate proceeds from their game against Etoile Sportive du Sahel to the Government of Ghana and the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Kotoko got ₵653, 240 from the sale of over 30, 000 tickets.
But because the Baba Yara Sports Stadium belongs to the Government of Ghana, Kotoko has to pay for using it.
Kotoko, according to the report paid the National Sports Authority ₵40, 874 and ₵102,232 as Value Added Tax. This means that the government got ₵143, 106 from the gate proceeds.
CAF was also paid ₵27, 650 while ₵21, 000 went to the security officials.
In total, Kotoko paid ₵191, 756 and took home ₵, 461, 484.
Kotoko charged ₵20 for the green, red and yellow stands and the VIP stands went for ₵50.
Should Kotoko eliminate Etoile Sportive du Sahel, their next game will be a group stage match in the CAF Champions League. Should it be the other way round, Kotoko will drop to the Confederation Cup and a win will see them play in the group stage for the second consecutive year.
