While Asante Kotoko fans were expecting their team to humiliate their arch-rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak last Sunday, the players were reportedly fighting with Johnson Smith.
According to the report, after Johnson Smith named his first eleven, some of the players questioned his lineup.
According to a report by Light FM in Kumasi, goalkeeper Kwame Baah approached Smith and asked him ‘what he has done to him?”
Per Light FM’s report, Smith had told Baah he was going to be in post for the game but he choose Abalora over him.
The senior players, according to the report told the coach not every player can play against Hearts so he should change the lineup but Smith stood to his grounds.
After the game, the players fought with Smith again for bringing on defender Patrick Asmah for winger Emmanuel Gyamfi in the 83rd minute.
The players who were not happy with the change told the coach that he should have brought on Augustine Okrah who is also an attacker as they needed a goal.
