Asante Kotoko players will each pocket $1000 for scaling past Kano Pillars over the weekend at the Baba Yara Stadium in the CAF Champions League.
The Porcupines eliminated the Nigerian side from the first round of the CAF Champions League prelims to set up a mouth-watering tie with Tunisia’s Etoile du Sahel.
Goals from Kelvin Andoh and Emmanuel Gyamfi ensured Kotoko overcame their 3-2 defeat in the Sani Abacha Stadium to progress on a 4-3 aggregate.
The win, however, came with a cost striker Naby Keita will miss Etoile’s clash on September 14 after receiving his marching orders. The good news is talisman Songe Yacouba who starred for them in during the CAF Confederation Cup campaign has resumed training and if all goes well he will be expected to fill the void created by Guinea international loss.

Ahead of the match, Asante Kotoko will take on regional rivals AshGold on Sunday, September 7 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in a Charity Cup clash dubbed – The A. K. Adusei Charity Cup.
