The coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Kjetil Zachariassen today, gave his players the day off.
According to the report, instead of training, Zachariassen told the players to fast and pray and use the rest of the day to relax when they finish. The fasting, The Post understands started at 6 in the morning.
The players, however, will resume their training on Saturday for Sunday’s game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Kano Pillars won the first 3-2 at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano, Nigeria two weeks ago.
A draw will send Kano Pillars to the next stage of the competition while a 3-2 win for Kotoko will mean that the game will go into a penalty shootout.
A 4-3 win for Kotoko or any win similar to that will again give the qualification ticket to Kano Pillars as they will qualify on the away goal rule.
