Kumasi Asante Kotoko has qualified to the semi-final of the ongoing Normalisation Committee’s Special Competition.
The Porcupine Warriors secured their qualification after they got a point for the second time at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park at Dormaa.
Also, Emmanuel Gyamfi has become the first Kotoko player to score a goal at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park for Kotoko.
Gyamfi put his side ahead in the 38th minute with a fine header but the hosts responded quickly a few minutes later after Abdul Fatawu Rahman capitalized on a Kotoko’s poor defending in the 18-yard box to equalize for Aduana Stars.
The game which ended one all means that Kotoko has qualified to the second round of the competition and is currently placed second awaiting the results of the match between Ashanti Gold and Techiman Eleven Wonders.
Ash Gold was leading by a goal to nil until the referee called for the end of the game due to a heavy fall. The game will continue tomorrow and should Ashanti Gold lose the game, Medeama will Kotoko to qualify to the next round of the competition as they won their game against Berekum Chelsea by two goals to nil at Tarkwa.
