Kumasi Asante Kotoko has reportedly turned down an offer to appoint Brazilian coach Leonardo Neiva.
Neiva, who previously coached Ugandan side Vipers, Tanzanian giants Yanga SC and other clubs in Asia and South America was sacked from his role at Kenyan club Gor Mahia in November 2024. The Porcupine Warriors reportedly rejected the offer to sign the Brazilian tactician following the dismissal of Prosper Ogum, PhD, in April 2025.
Per the report, Kotoko opted to hand the job to Karim Zito, who was initially appointed as the interim coach after Ogum’s departure.
Zito went on to win the FA Cup and is expected to lead the team in their upcoming CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
