Black Stars coach, Kwesi Appiah has said Kotoko should not expect to play any small team.
The former captain of the Porcupine Warriors made the comment when he was asked if the Kotoko vs Ash Gold match is not a big match for Kotoko as they have a Confederation Cup match ahead of them.
Appiah who was interviewed on Kessben FM then said: ‘the level Kotoko has gotten to they should not look at playing smaller clubs’.
‘They should be looking at the bigger teams.’
Adding, he said that playing the big teams will enable them to know ‘the loopholes’ so that they will find it easy to play big clubs.
And he believes the game his former side will play against their rivals will give them the opportunity to identify the problems in the team ahead of their game with Cotton Sport.
Kotoko has only played two competitive games since the Ghanaian league was suspended in July 2018 and that was their game against Kenyan Side Kariobangi Sharks.
However, the Ghanaian giant has faced tough opponents when they played friendly games against the Ghana national Under-23 team, Ashanti Gold SC and their arch-rivals Hearts of Oak. Apart from these clubs, the Porcupine Warriors has played Inter Allies and other clubs to prepare for their Confederation Cup matches.
