Kumasi Asante Kotoko after signing C. K Akonnor as the new head coach has revealed the club’s main target is to win a continental trophy.
Though the club has been named as Africa’s club of the century, the club has not won a continental trophy in years.
The two times African Champions League winners last won the CAF Champions League in 1983 and won the first one in 1970.

In recent years, the club has been struggling to compete in Africa with clubs like TP Mazembe and Al Ahly ruling the continent.
Since the league was cancelled by the government after Anas’ Number 12 expose, the club has only lost to Ashanti Gold in a match which ended 3-2.
Apart from the signing of C.K Akonnor, new players are expected to sign for the club in the coming weeks to beef up the squad to be able to compete in Africa.
The continental trophy is not expected now but in three years’ time.
