Kumasi Asante Kotoko, according to reports gathered will forgo their interest in a foreign coach and appoint a Ghanaian to coach the club.
According to the report, Kotoko is willing to pay $5000 but the said foreign coach does not want less than $8000.
Apart from the amount involved, the fans of Kotoko seem to be fed up with the foreign coaches and are calling for the return of Maxwell Konadu and it is believed the management of the club want to please the fans.
Konadu played for Kotoko in the early 90s and coached the club during the 2011 and 2012 season before becoming the assistant of the national team and the coach of the Black Stars team B.
He won the league during his one year stay with the club and the fans believe he has unfinished business with the club.
Konadu has also been tipped to join his former club’s arch-rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak according to reports in the media.
Kotoko is expected to announce their new coach this week.
