Kumasi Asante Kotoko will do a Thanksgiving Service after the club’s elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup competition.
Kotoko got eliminated after losing to Zesco United 2-1 in Zambia.
A win for Kotoko would have seen the club qualify to the quarter-final stage of the competition for the first time in years.
Kotoko’s qualification to the group stage is the first time the club has qualified to the group stage for the first time in 13 years and the Executive Chairman of the club, Dr Kwame Kyei who is a devout Christian, according to reports, will lead the team to do a Thanksgiving service.
Last season, although Kotoko did not make it to the group stage of the competition, the club did a Thanksgiving Service.
At the moment, the players are on break while Felix Annan, Kwame Bonsu and Amos Frimpong are with the national team to prepare for the AFCON qualifier against Kenya and the program is expected to take place a the forecourt of Sports Hotel in Kumasi on Friday.
