Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Obuasi Ashanti Gold will be facing each other in semi-final of the ongoing Normalization Committee Special Cup Tier II competition.
The regional rivals booked their place in the semis after Kotoko beat Berekum Arsenal 2-1 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium while Ash Gold needed a second-half header from Shafiu Mumuni to secure a place in the semi-final.
With two of their players, Felix Annan and Fatawu Shafiu on national assignment, Danlad replaced Annan in the goal post while Naby Keita replaced Shafiu upfront.
The porcupine warriors opened the scoring in the 9th minute through Naby Keita and Kwame Boahene added a second in the 24th minute to make it two.
Arsenal’s Ebenezer Aboagye pulled one back in the 34th minute to make it 2-1.
The two clubs are now the only team to be in the semi-final of both the Tier I and the Tier II competition.
Unistar Academy and Nzema Kotoko are the other two semi-finalists in the competition.
