Finally, Africa’s club of the 20th Century, Kumasi Asante Kotoko is set to open its own shop to sell its replica jerseys and other club related items.
This was revealed by former club captain, Yussif Chibsah on Siver FM this morning.
Chibsah said that a shop has already been secured near the Kumasi Sports Stadium and Sports Hotel at Asokwa in Kumasi. Other sales point will be opened in Kumasi to make it easy for supporters of the club to purchase the items.
For years the supporters of the club have been asking the management of the club to open its own shop to enable them to buy the club’s jerseys and other club items.
Over the years fans of the club have been being the club’s flags and jerseys from people who are not related to the club.
After the club signed a three-year deal with Strike to become their kit sponsors, a shop where the club will be selling their items is set to open.
Chibsah also told the fans of the club to patronize the goods as it will benefit the club.
He also told people who will produce items related to the club to stop as it will no longer be accepted.
For the next three years, Kotoko will get ¢ 200, 000 for every 200, 000 jerseys sold. Also, the club will be given 5% of Strike’s profit.
