Kumasi Asante Kotoko will be playing Karela United in the final of the Normalization Committee Special Cup Tier 1.
Both clubs booked their place in the final after travelling to their opponent’s home grounds to beat them.
Both clubs, weeks earlier threatened not to play the game with Kotoko writing to the NC pull out of the competition as they did not like how the NC wanted to share the money from the sale of the match tickets.
Karela beat Obuasi Ashanti Gold at the Len Clay Sports Stadium in Obuasi by a goal to nil in a which Ashanti Gold was expected to win.
However, Karela shocked and broke the hearts of the Miners when they got a late goal in the 94th minute.
In the other game between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak, the game went on a penalty shootout after it ended one all.
Kotoko went on to win the game 5-4 on penalties.
