As part of efforts to stop some fans from using fake tickets to watch games at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, the PRO of the club Kennedy Boakye Ansah has revealed laser scanners will be used to detect the fake tickets.
In an interview on Kessben FM ahead of Kotoko’s game on Sunday against Etoile Sportive du Sahel, Ansah stated that laser scanners will be used to scan the tickets even if you buy it at the gate.
The scanning of the tickets will not only detect fake tickets but also prevent people from giving their tickets to other people to use it to enter the stadium as a scanned ticket will be detected if another person tries to use it to enter the stadium.
Over the years, some fans have been using fake tickets and also giving their tickets to other people to enter the stadium to watch games.
Last season, the management of the club installed CCTV cameras at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and although some people we captured on camera entering the stadium for free, no one was prosecuted.
However, the club is keen to putting an end to the act in other to increase the revenue from the sale of tickets.
