The Ghana Football Association has cancelled the Super Cup game between League winners, Kumasi Asante Kotoko and FA Cup winners, Accra Hearts of Oak.
The game was supposed to be played on September 5, 2022, however, the decision to cancel the game is due to Kotoko’s Champions League game and Black Galaxies’ game against Nigeria.
Hearts of Oak has more than five of their players at the Black Galaxies camp as they prepare for the game against Nigeria on September 3, 2022, while Kotoko will play RC Kadiogo on September 9.
The GFA in their statement said “the cancellation of the Champion of Champions match is to give Champions Asante Kotoko SC ample time to prepare for the Champions League and to afford the Black Galaxies and the free room to qualify for the CHAN competition.”
