Kumasi Asante Kotoko has beaten their arch-rivals Accra Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium and move to the 4th place on the league table.
Before the game, Hearts fans were optimistic today is the day they could finally beat Kotoko after failing to beat them in their last five games, however, Kotoko was not ready for that to happen.
Kotoko opened the scoring in the 11th minute through Justice Blay’s header from Augustine Okrah’s freekick.
In the 28th minute, Kotoko’s Collins Ameyaw came on for Adom Frimpong who sustained an injury.
Hearts were not ready to give up easily and in the 68th minute, Joseph Esso equalized for the Phobians.
The home side was in the game and tried all they could to scored the second goal but Kotoko’s defence was too strong for Hearts of Oak to penetrate.
In the 90th minute, Kotoko was awarded a penalty after the ball struck the hand of a Hearts player.
Naby Keita made no mistake when he took the penalty to give his side the much-needed win.
Before the game, Maxwell Konadu in a tweet told the fans of Kotoko to relax as the Delta Force is ready with him as the Air Force one pilot. He stayed true to his words and delivered.
