Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club striker, Steven Mukwala, scored for Uganda in the team’s 2-2 draw with Ghana’s Black Stars.
Mukwala’s goal came in an international friendly game played out in Morocco that had both teams in search of a win after missing out on one in a previous game.
Uganda lost 4-0 to Comoros while Ghana lost 2-1 to Nigeria and the game got off to a good start with Black Stars defender Jerome Opoku powering in a header in the sixth minute.
However, Mukwala stepped up in the 22nd minute to even the tie before Jordan Ayew scored his second goal from the penalty spot in as many games to give Ghana a lead at half time.
Muhammad Shaban scored in the 82nd minute to even the game that had Black Stars head coach Otto Addo make five changes to the starting lineup that played against Nigeria. Newbies Ebenezer Annan and Mohammed Abu started against Uganda.
24 year old Mukwala, has nine goals and an assist in 20 Ghana Premier League games for a Kotoko side that is enduring a terrible run with just a win in its last six games.
Mukwala has been engaged in serious talks with the Porcupine Warriors over a new contract in recent weeks.
