The winners of the 2016 CAF Champions League, Mamelodi Sundowns has booked their place in the group stage of the CAF Champions League after beating Seychelles club, Cote d’Or 11-1 at the Lucas “Masterpieces” Moripe Stadium in South Africa.
Sundowns scored their first goal in the ninth minute through Zwane and Sirino made it two in the nineteenth minute. Two minutes later, Sibusiso Vilakazi close-range goal made it three for the Brazilians.
Vilakazi added two more in the 24th minute and fortieth minute to complete his hattrick in the first half.
Two minutes to the end of the first half, Morena’s header made it six for the home side.
The Brazilians were in the mood to score more goals and Motjeka Madisha made it seven in the 42nd minute with a powerful strike in the 18-yard box.
Anele Ngcongca was able to find this way through the Cote d’Or defenders and scored the eighth goal on the night for his side.
Zwane made it nine for the Brazilians in the 74th minute after which the goalkeeper of Cote d’Or scored an own goal in seventy-seventh minute.
Cote d’Or’s Voavy pulled a goal back for his side in the 81st minute.
Mauricio Afonso needed just two minutes on the pitch to score his debut goal for the South African side in the 82nd minute.
Sundowns made it to the group stage 16-1 on aggregate.
