Man, 27, arrested for allegedly raping 62-year-old dumb woman

A 27-year-old man has been accused of allegedly raping a 62-year-old mute woman in Mempeasem, a suburb of Samreboi in the Western Region of Ghana. The incident reportedly occurred between 4 and 5 a.m. on Monday, July 15, 2024.

Agatha, the victim’s younger sister, informed journalists that she received a call from another sister about the assault. Upon confirming the incident at the scene, they took the victim to Samartex Hospital for treatment.

The victim was reportedly asleep when the suspect entered her room and assaulted her. The suspect, believed to be a foreigner and whose identity has not been disclosed, has been arrested by the Samreboi Divisional Police Command for further investigation.
