Man dies after being buried alive ‘by his own children’

A 75-year-old man has died after he was allegedly buried alive by his own children in southern Mozambique.

A total of 20 people from the same family, who reportedly suspected the man of practising witchcraft, have been detained in connection with his death.

They say more than 10 people have died in their family since 2000 and held the dead man responsible.

Police are looking for a traditional healer who is thought to have told the family the man was practising witchcraft.
