Manhyia Palace yesterday announced that from Monday April 8, 2019 to Monday April 29, 2019 there will be ban on funeral to mark the celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Asantehene, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The release which was signed by the Chief of Staff for Asanteman, Kofi Badu stated that the ban is in accordance with the Asante customs and tradition.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is the 16th Asantehene and succeeded his uncle, Otumfuo Opoku Ware II on April 26 1999 who died on February 26 that same year.
The ban will extend beyond Ashanti Region as there are towns in other regions which are under Asanteman.
