The coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Maxwell Konadu has given his support to the club management’s decision to reduce the salary of the players by 40%.
Konadu in a video said the COVID – 19 made it necessary for the management to discuss the pay cut with the senior players because they “do not know when all this is going to end.”
“A lot of people are helping to fight the virus so if we also donate some of our money to fight the virus then it will be good.”
However, it is not known if the club will use the 40% pay cut to donate to the government’s fund set up to finance the fight against the COVID-19.
