Medeama ordered to pay Toure ₵100,000

FIFA has issued a ruling demanding Ghanaian Premier League club, Medeama SC, to pay Ivorian international Ahmed Youre an amount exceeding GH₵100,000 for breach of contract. If Medeama fails to make the full payment within the allotted 45 days, they will face consequences in the form of a transfer ban. The ban could last up to three consecutive registration periods and if the payment is still not received by the end of this period, the matter will be submitted to the FIFA Disciplinary Committee.

Out of the total amount owed, GH₵60,900 is for outstanding wages and GH₵40,600 is compensation for breach of contract. According to Article 24 of the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players, if full payment is not received within 45 days of notification, the club will not be allowed to register any new players, either domestically or internationally, for the duration of the transfer ban.

Ahmed Toure joined Medeama SC ahead of the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League and made a positive impact in his short stint with the club, scoring 5 goals in 7 games. Unfortunately, his stay was cut short due to circumstances beyond his control, resulting in the breach of contract and the current ruling by FIFA.
