Asante Kotoko board member, Alhaji Abu Lamin has revealed why Kotoko did not sign Justice Blay during the supporters’ congress at Koforidua last Saturday.
Speaking at the program, Alhaji Lamin said he was personally involved in the negotiation because Medeama’s owner, Moses Parker is his business partner.
He stated that Parker told him he would reduce Blay’s price tag by only ₵10,000 after Kotoko increased theirs to ₵200,000.
According to Alhaji Lamin, coach Maxwell Konadu told them to suspend the deal as Blay has only one year left on his contract plus he also does not have a problem in the midfield role.
Adding, he said he also gave up on the deal because Medeama wanted to sell him to Kotoko for ₵170,000 before he joined the club on loan, therefore, he did not see the reason why they had to sign him now for more than ₵200,000 after paying ₵70,000 for him on a year loan.
