Barcelona have confirmed that Memphis Depay, Eric Garcia and Rey Manaj have been registered with LaLiga and will be available for their LaLiga Santander opener against Real Sociedad on Sunday night.
Before this week, none of Barcelona’s new signings had been registered with LaLiga, but now the trio join Emerson Royal, whose registration was confirmed on Thursday. The injured Sergio Aguero remains unregistered, however.
The Blaugrana stated that the registration of the latest three players was due to the fact that Gerard Pique has agreed a significant wage reduction, although the percentage has not been specified.
The club are still in negotiations with Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba to lower their salaries in a situation that has become a matter of urgency for the club.
Departures have been key
As well as Pique’s wage reduction, the income that Barcelona have gained from the sale of various players has also been vital.
The club have gained 37.5 million euros in total from the departures of Jean-Clair Tobido, Junior Firpo, Francisco Trincao, Carles Alena and Konrad de la Fuente, while they have also got Lionel Messi’s wages off the books.
