Ghana has been eliminated from the U-17 Women’s World Cup. Ghana got eliminated after through a penalty shootout which ended 4-2 in favour of the Mexicans.
Ghana’s captain, Abdulai with a fantastic header scored the first goal of the game in the 46th minute.
The Mexican captain, Perez also equalized for from the penalty spot in the 61st minute.
Suzzy Teye, with a beautiful first touch, placed the ball into the Mexican post to give Ghana a 2-1 lead in the 75th minute.
And once again, the Mexican captain made sure her side bounce back. In the 82nd minute she scored a fantastic free-kick to make it two-all.
The game went on to a penalty shootout after the 90 minutes and Ghana missed two penalties while the Mexicans scored all the four penalties they took.
Mexico has now qualified for the semi-finals.
