A tragedy occurred at the Kwabenya Musuku Roundabout in the Dome-Kwabenya area of the Greater Accra Region on Wednesday, February 8th, as a result of an alleged case of road rage.
An eyewitness who spoke to Prince Benjamin of Class News reported that the accident occurred at around 8 PM. The witness claimed that the driver of a Toyota Vitz car with the license plate GX-3607-20 hit two young men on a motorcycle, causing them to fall off their bike. The Vitz car then flipped and crashed into a teak pole.
According to the eyewitness, who appeared to be in his late 20s, the deceased youth, believed to be 18 years old, and his companion had stolen the iPhone 13 of the Vitz driver while on the road. In retaliation, the driver chased and struck them.
The driver of the Vitz was reportedly taken to the hospital, while the identity of the motorcycle rider was left unknown as he was found dead near the accident scene. His accomplice, however, survived and fled the scene.
The Ghana Police Service arrived at the location to handle the situation and tend to the dead youth, while shocked residents gathered in the area.
