Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho got into a fight with Chelsea’s assistant, Marco Ianni after the 2-2 draw with his formal club at Stamford Bridge this afternoon.
After Ross Barkley’s 96th minute equalizer, Marco Ianni raced past the United dugout to celebrate before heading to the tunnel. Mourinho had to be held back as he got off his seat to chase Ianni when he was went to the tunnel. The stewards and some of the players had to get involved to calm down the former Chelsea manager.
Mourinho said after the game that Ianni lacks “education”.
“(They were) Not celebrations. Bad education. But I also made mistakes in football matches and I will make more so when he came to me after the game to apologise I accepted his apologies.
“Maurizio saw and told me that he would take care of it internally and to accept his apologies, which I did. But then the young fellow came and apologise, I told him I accept, I did mistakes when I was your age and try to improve,” he said.
Sarri, on the other hand, said “I spoke with Jose after and realised we were wrong. I spoke with my staff and then agreed to speak to Mourinho and say sorry. Now I think it’s finished. We made a mistake. We were in the wrong on the situation.
“I have to speak (to Ianni) – I want to be sure he understands it was a big mistake.”
