Telecommunication giants, MTN has reportedly told the management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko that they are going to reduce the money the sponsorship money they give them every month.
MTN’s ¢50, 000 a month sponsorship deal with Kotoko is the biggest sponsorship deal in Ghana.
Now, the reports indicate MTN has told the club it will receive half of the amount thus ¢25, 000 every month.
The decision to reduce the money and give the club half of the money is as a result of the lack of football activities in the country. The agreement between the two clubs is that Kotoko is supposed to market the MTN through their football activities but since there is no sign of when the ban on football will be lifted in the country, MTN, has decided to reduce the money they pay to the club.
