The Member of Parliament (MP) for Asawase Constituency, Muntaka Mubarak Mohammed has lashed out at his fellow parliamentarians from the Ashanti Region.
Muntaka criticised the Parliamentarians for failing to lobby for developmental projects to their constituencies and to the region at large.
According to him, the MPs are reluctant because the MPs know that no matter what happens if they win their primaries then they will win the parliamentary election.
During the previous administration, some of the MPs in Ashanti Region accused Muntaka of always taking advantage of his party’s position as the ruling government to get all the developmental projects to his constituency. Muntaka, during his interview on Pure FM, said MPs who said that should be ashamed of themselves and show interest in the development of their constituency.
One MP who has been at the receiving end of such criticism is the MP for Suame, Osei Kyei-Mensah who is also the Majority Leader in Parliament and the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs. Kyei-Mensah has always been praised for his activeness in parliament but he is most of the time criticised for the underdevelopment in his constituency.
He advised the MPs to serve their people as they are their subjects and stop walking around their constituency with their bodyguards.
