Portia Agyiewaa Kodie, a journalist with Dess FM, a community radio station at Bekwai in the Ashanti Region, and was murdered in April this year can finally rest in peace as his murderer has been caught by the police.
Months after her murder at her home at Nyameduase, Bekwai, his murderer after police investigations turned out to be her boyfriend, Philip Akomani.
Philip Akomani, 36, also called Atta Panin was an unemployed man who acted and made people believe he was a soldier.
The couple were living at Kasoa before they moved to Bekwai early this year after Portia got a job at Dess FM.
Around 8:30 pm on 15 April 2018, an argument ensued between the pair and the deceased told Atta Panin she wants their relationship to end.
Atta Panin did not take that lightly and he stabbed Portia on her hand and in between her breasts before escaping.
Portia was found dead in a pool of blood the following day.
Atta Panin, after his arrest, told the police he stayed at Assin Fosu before moving to Kasoa to live with his twin.
He was arrested upon a tip of by the military while attending a funeral at Petransa in the Ashanti Region.
He took the police to his hideout and showed them the knife he used to commit the murder after confessing.
Philip Akomani has been remanded and the police have been asked to further their investigations.
