The MP for Tamale Central, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini has indicated a petition has been sent to the President, Nana Addo by the people of Chereponi indicating they do not want to be part of the region.
According to the MP, the people of Chereponi in the Northern Region have been added to those who will be voting in the upcoming referendum on whether to form a new region or not.
However, the people of Chereponi who are against have their hands tied as the others are for the formation of the yet to be North-East Region.
According to the MP, the people of Chereponi wants to be part of the Dagomba Traditional Region but should they leave the region they cannot be part of it.
And for that reason, the leaders of Chereponi have sent the petition to the President to state their position on the upcoming referendum.
