The NDC Executives in the three northern regions are accusing the ruling NPP of abandoning the areas that have suffered from the “dam spillage.”
According to the NDC executives, Dr Bawumia who was recently in the north did not even take time off to go to his hometown and see for himself the effects of the spillage.
Also, they stated that they [the NDC] have rather taken it upon themselves to provide blankets and food and shelter for those affected.
They blame the government for lying to the people during the 2016 elections as they made them believed they will help them should they come to power.
Furthermore, they blame the government for not informing the residents when the Bagri Dam in Burkina Faso was about to be opened.
The Dam, which was constructed over a decade ago is opened annually whenever there is excess water.
Unfortunately, whenever they open the dam, it causes a flood in the areas destroying not only the houses of the residents but also their farms.
The NDC executives in the north have asked the government to come to the aid of the people and stop lying to them.
