NDC voted for Mahama so that he can spend the money he stole from Ghanaians – Chairman Wontumi

Bernard “Chairman Wontumi” Antwi Boasiako has ‘revealed’ why the NDC voted for former president, John Dramani Mahama to lead their party in next year’s election.

While Ghanaians, especially members of the NDC believe that John Mahama won the election to lead the party because he is more popularly, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party does not believe that.

According to him, Mahama won the flagbearer position of his party because “they want him to spend the money he stole from Ghanaians when he was president”.

Wontumi indicated that when he became the president, he sacked all those who were appointed by former President Mills to head certain offices in the country. And because of that, he is the only who has the financial capacity to campaign as compared to the others.

He said in an interview on Angel FM in Kumasi that although he has won the election to lead his party, he is not a match for the NPP.

“While Akufo-Addo will be remembered for the Free Senior High School Policy, Mahama will be remembered for corruption.”

“What did he even do for the NDC,” he asked?

Mahama, last week, won the NDC primaries win 95% of the total votes cast. His victory, Chairman Wontumi believes will not help the opposition NDC in next year’s election.
