The new Police Commander in the Ashanti has sent a strong warning to criminals in the region.
In his first meeting with the press, DCOP Kwasi Mensah Duku said he is in the region to continue the work of his predecessors.
‘Nothing has changed’, he said, ‘the only thing new is that I am replacing someone’, he added.
‘There are some people who know the criminals but they are afraid to tell us because they think we will tell the criminals who gave their information to us’.
‘Do not be afraid to give us any information’, the new Regional Commander said.
‘I have also heard some people have started land guard in Kumasi. They should stop, this is not Accra’.
He also told reporters he will not ‘sit down’ and watch ‘gangsters’ do whatever they want especially when they take Tramadol.
He sent a ‘word of caution’ out to them to be ready for him.
He also spoke against people who attack police stations when their friend or relative is arrested.
DCOP Mensah Duku who was transferred from the Western Region replaces COP Ken Yeboah as Ashanti Region’s Regional Police Commander.
