In an unusual turn of events during a Premier League match, a Newcastle ball boy declined to provide his chair to Mohammed Kudus for his goal celebration after scoring his seventh goal in the league.
Kudus, who made a comeback after missing Ghana’s friendly games against Nigeria and Uganda, netted a crucial goal in the match.
The 23-year-old midfielder’s goal gave West Ham the lead late in the first half at St. James’ Park.
Following his goal, Kudus attempted to execute his signature celebration by simply taking a seat. However, when he requested a chair from the ball boy to complete his celebration, he was unexpectedly denied.
Undeterred by the refusal, Kudus, with the assistance of his teammates, improvised by sitting on the advertising board itself to commemorate his goal.
Kudus’ unique celebration originated after he scored twice in West Ham’s recent 5-0 victory over SC Freiburg in the Europa League, garnering attention across social media platforms.
Despite Kudus’ commendable performance, West Ham couldn’t maintain their lead and eventually suffered a 4-3 defeat to Newcastle United.
