Victor Moses yesterday shocked the football world when he announced his retirement from international football at the age of 27.
Moses made his debut for his country in 2012 and was among the Nigerian team that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
Moses took to his social media page to announce his retirement indicating he wants to focus on his club career and also give room for young footballers to get a chance to play for the Super Green Eagles.

Moses became eligible to play for Nigeria after he switched nationality after playing for England at the youth level.
He scored 12 goals in 37 games for his country.
However, he has received both applause and criticisms for his announcement.
Victor Moses’ retirement may not be the last we hear. Others likely to follow. Surprised it took this long #Team9jaStrong

It's not normal to retire from International football at 27. The excuse Victor Moses gave does not really sound ok. There's something he's not telling us.
All the same, wishing him all the best in the rest of his career.— Umeh and 99 others (@UmehOMA) August 15, 2018
