The management of Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) in Kumasi has denied reports that one of its students was killed by armed robbers.
In a statement addressed to GhanaWeb, the university clarified that although the level 100 English student was attacked and left on the Kumasi-Sunyani Highway, he did not die.
The university added that the victim has been discharged from the hospital and is in good condition. According to the university, the student was returning to his hostel outside the campus after studying late into the night when he was attacked by unknown assailants.
A Campus Security Staff spotted the victim and rushed him to the University Clinic for initial medical care, then referred him to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for further treatment.
The university expressed appreciation to the security staff and others who supported the victim during the ordeal.
