Mark D. Noonan has left his position as the CEO of Accra Hearts of Oak.
Noonan informed the club about his decision to leave the club after he failed to return to Ghana from this two weeks visit to his country, USA.
Noonan made the trip to his home country after he was given the permission to visit his family, however, he told the club that the lack of active football in Ghana for almost a year is and family are the reasons for his decision.
The Public Relations Officer of the club, Kwame Opare Addo has described the news as a shock.
“It has come as a huge surprise to all of us at Hearts of Oak when we got Mark Noonan’s message.
“He attributes to family reasons and lack of domestic football in the country as the reasons he has resigned, he told Happy FM.
“The Umbro deal will happen, Mark Noonan’s resignation has nothing to do with the Umbro deal, he added.
The club, after the resignation of the Noonan, appointed the former CEO of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Frederick Moore as the new CEO of the club.
The owner of the club, Togbe Afede also praised Noonan for the work he did during his short stay at the club.
