The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has in his 11th address to the nation on the steps the government has taken to stop the spread of the Coronavirus has stated that not wearing face masks is now an offense.
The president in his speech said the police have been informed of the new law as it has been backed by an executive instrument.

This means that the police have now been given the power to arrest anyone who leaves home without wearing a face mask.
