Alhaji Karim Gruzah, the bankroller of Ghana Premier League team King Faisal, remains optimistic about his side’s chances of retaining their status in the 2022/23 betPawa Premier League. Despite securing a spot in the 2023 MTN FA Cup finals with Dreams FC, King Faisal has struggled in the Premier League, currently occupying the 17th position on the league table with 36 points, three points behind Great Olympics, who are also fighting against relegation.
In their recent match against Medeama on Friday, May 26, 2023, King Faisal took an early lead in the 10th minute through Samuel Kusi, but unfortunately allowed it to slip away as Medeama scored twice, with Abdulai Nurudeen finding the net in the 20th minute and Joshua Agyemang adding to the woes with a goal in the 67th minute.
However, Alhaji Gruzah, a respected football administrator, holds a different perspective, believing that nothing is too difficult to handle and that the outcome will depend on God’s will. He expressed his faith, saying, “Nothing is too difficult for God. To men, it’s difficult, but to God, it isn’t. If you had seen the accident we had, you would know God saved us. God acts in His own time. So, if God says we will stay in the league, we will surely stay. His will shall be done. Insha Allah,” he shared during an interview with Angel FM.
As the season comes to a close, King Faisal, currently struggling, will face Legon Cities on matchday 33 and Tamale City on matchday 34. With these remaining fixtures, Alhaji Gruzah and the team will seek to gather crucial points in their quest to retain their position in the league.
