The Board Chairman for National Sports Authority (NSA), Kwadwo Baah Agyemang has denied Kennedy Agyapong’s claim that he tried to make contact with referees during the just ended African Women’s Cup of Nations in Ghana.
Kennedy Agyapong during an interview said the Sports Minister, Asiamah told him that Anas’ number 12 expose has really affected Ghana. He added that the minister told him ‘he was stopped from meeting the referees’.
He also indicated the NSA, Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, ‘also came to’ him and said ‘they [referees] were not prepared to meet any Ghanaian official’.
The MP for Assin-Central then said both men told him that ‘Ghanaians did not understand him when he was complaining about Anas’.
Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, during an interview on Kessben FM, said the conversation they had with Kennedy Agyapong was about the effects of Anas’ documentary on the Black Queen’s during the tournament as the ‘referees were in solidarity’ with their friends who were exposed in the documentary.
He added that during the tournament, some referees were afraid to have conversations with any Ghanaian officials and they kept mentioning Anas’ name whenever they are talking to those involved in the tournament.
He then denied that they made an attempt to bribe the referees or anyone to help the Black Queens perform well in the tournament.
Kwadwo Baah also told Kessben Sports that although the documentary has revealed to us the bad things in Ghana football, it has also affected us in a way.
When asked about how he feels about Kennedy Agyapong revealing their closed-door conversation, he said: ‘I see it to be a normal thing’ as he knows Kennedy Agyapong very well.
Kwadwo Baah Agyemang worked for Kennedy Agyapong’s television station NET 2 TV. He is also the former MP for Asante Akyem North from 2012-2016.
He said that he knows his formal boss very well and he knows what and what not to say in his presence.
