A 24-year-old National Service Person, Bismark Ansu, has been remanded for three weeks into police custody by the Bibiani Circuit Court for allegedly defiling three pupils in Sehwi Wiawso Municipality of the Western North Region. Ansu, who is also a class two teacher of the three victims, was organizing extra classes for his pupils in his house in January this year without the knowledge of the school authorities.
He took advantage of the situation and lured three pupils, aged between eight and nine years, to have sexual intercourse with him, threatening to kill them if they disclosed their ordeal to anyone. The parents of the victims later noticed abnormal blood discharges from their daughters’ private parts, and upon interrogation, the victims disclosed the ordeal to their parents.
A report was made to the police at Sehwi Asawinso, and a medical form was issued to the complainants to take the victims to a government hospital for examination, treatment, and endorsement, which confirmed the defilement claims. Ansu was subsequently arrested and charged with three offenses; threat of death, defilement, and threat of harm.
The accused has been remanded into police custody and is scheduled to reappear before the court on 29th May 2023. Meanwhile, the victims are responding to treatment.
