Asante Kotoko coach, Prosper Nartey Ogum PhD has apologized to the fans of the club for how he left before the start of last season.
Ogum’s resignation came as a shock to not only Kotoko fans but also to football fans in Ghana as the club was preparing for their CAF Champions League preliminary game game against RC Kadiogo.
Ogum told the club’s Board and Management during a meeting online about his decision to resign.
“I came and left and I know how I left didn’t go down well with some the supporters,” he told the leaders of the club’s supporters group when they visited the team at Beposo where they are having their pre-season training.
“I have not talked about it and I am not going to say anything about it because Kotoko is big, its dear to my heart and that of my family as well.”
“So I would like to use this meeting to apologize for how I came and left and if it didn’t make anyone happy, please forgive me,” he said.
“Also, I during that time I stepped on anyone’s toes, the person should forgive me.”
“I’m human, maybe at that time I did not get time for myself (to think about it well) that why something like that happened.”
He told the supporters to forget all that has happened and work on the new direction that they are on so that the club would be successful.
