The debate as to who was better in his prime is one thing football fans will never stop arguing about.
The most notable of this argument is the one between Pele and Maradonna.
Although we hardly hear about this kind of argument about Ghanaian footballers, for some time now, football fans have been trying to find the better player between Kotoko’s legend, Rev. Osei Kofi and Hearts of Oak’s legend Mohammed Polo.
Former Kotoko team leader, Alhaji Yahaya Jibril has said: “the kind of football Osei Kofi played, Polo never played like that.”
Explaining why he chose Osei Kofi, he said that, Osei Kofi who was called “wizard dribbler” did more than what Polo who was also called “the dribbling magician” did in his playing days.
Another Kotoko legend, Rev Addae Kyenkyenhene also voted for Rev Osei Kofi, however, he praised Polo for his talent and also indicated that both players played in different eras and did well during their time.
Though both players never won the African Footballer of the Year Award, both players won the prestigious Africa Cup of Nations during their playing days.
